Structured to meet the needs of young musicians, the ARMES String Chamber Music Program is able to offer ability grouping in after-school classes. Students are divided into three levels of instruction:
> Beginning
> Intermediate techniques
> Advanced techniques
The emphasis of the ARMES String Chamber Music Program is on developing chamber musicians.
All students in the ARMES String Program attend class twice a week for a minimum of one hour and thirty minutes each time. Once a month they attend a Saturday morning homogeneous class to work on solo literature. They are encouraged to perform in recitals, to be in their school program, and to play publicly as often as possible. The progression in the Strings Program from beginning to advanced is based on the mastery of the curriculum and goals. As each student shows progress, he or she is rewarded with additional musical experiences.
Beginning students advance to the Intermediate Ensemble; Intermediate students advance to the Advanced Ensemble; and selected students are placed in the Quartet program of ARMES Strings.
